Lucette de la Fougere was born in London of French parentage. She has made a major contribution to British Art through her work with the London based 'Free Painters and Sculptors Group' working alongside, Sir George Pollock, Robert de Quinn, Horne Shepherd, plus several other artists from the 1960s. The Free Painters and Sculptors Group played an important role in the emergence of London as a creative centre alongside Paris and New York during the 1960s.
The paintings of Lucette de la Fougere have been exhibited widely at many galleries and artistic institutions throughout the UK including, The Royal Academy of Art, the The Royal Society of British Artists and The Royal Society for Painters in Oils. She was an elected member of both the ROI and the RBA.
