Marjorie Mostyn 1893-
Summer Flowers
Oil on Canvas
Marjorie Mostyn was the daughter of the artist Tom Mostyn. She studied at the St John’s Wood School of art under Leonard Walker and later at the Royal Schools of Art under John Singer Sargent.
She was a member of the St Ives Society and the Newlyn Society and worked from her studio in St Ives Cornwall.
Her paintings have been exhibited widely, including the Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Cambrian Academy.
She was especially noted for her flower paintings, which have added much warmth, beauty and colour to many homes. The painting shown here is a wonderful example of her work.
